The very first YS53
Introducing the first Damen Yachting Yacht Support 53 (YS5301) ever built, a groundbreaking vessel and proud member of the extensive BAD COMPANY SUPPORT fleet. This unique yacht serves as the operational backbone for an ambitious program spanning all oceans, combining contemporary deep-sea fishing with vital scientific research.

Successful YS 5009 Design
Built and showcased under the name TIME OFF, this 55.5 metre Yacht Support derives from the hugely popular and successful YS 5009 design.
Her custom arrangement was fitted after her sale when she was renamed BETTER SPACE and represents a legacy that formed the blue-print for the future of Yacht Support and the next generation YS53s.
Purpose built
Purpose built for a scientific motivation to be able to have machine shops, molecular biology labs, 3D printing, electronics and more at sea. With space for 11 visiting scientists aboard, GENE CHASER is the perfect platform when it come to supporting the mothership Amels 180 GENE MACHINE and the Owner’s scientific work and philanthropic goals.
Custom Expedition Vessel
When delivered, this 75.20-metre custom expedition vessel will explore the world with a hugely capable platform featuring hybrid propulsion for zero-emission cruising and accommodation for 10-12 guests.
UMBRA: A Modular Multitasker
One of the original YS 5009s dating back to 2010 that created the Yacht Support phenomenon. Ownership changes and a major refit has transformed her into a modular multitasker.
You may remember UMBRA as the filmmaker’s helicopter base in the BBC Blue Planet documentary series.
PURSUIT: Very First Yacht Support
She may be the very first Yacht Support vessel ever, but PURSUIT's DNA is rooted in the groundbreaking Damen Sea Axe design. This revolutionary hull form, initially developed for high-speed patrol vessels, was a game-changer in maritime engineering.
Adapting its unique capabilities for the yachting market was a breakthrough and a stroke of genius, leading to the creation of the entire Yacht Support range.
Supporting the Mother Yacht
After delivery from the Damen Sea Axe line of high-performance vessels, AD-VANTAGE underwent a refit to tailor her to her Owner’s requirements in 2014. She has since spent much of her time supporting the mother yacht with dive operations in the South Pacific.
Capability and Luxury Finish
This is the founding large Yacht Support vessel in the 70-metre category, originally built to support the 87-metre superyacht ACE. GARÇON took the concept of support to a whole new level, standing out both in terms of capability as well as luxury finish – her paintwork remains the envy of many white yachts!
WINGMAN: Scuba Supporter
WINGMAN, a bespoke Yacht Support vessel, was conceived and built for a passionate scuba diving enthusiast, resulting in a truly exceptional vessel.
This custom creation features a dedicated, fully equipped dive centre, complete with a large, professional decompression chamber—a crucial safety feature for adventurous dives in remote locations. The interiors, masterfully designed by Mark Berryman, echo the style and sophistication of the mother yacht, creating a unified and luxurious atmosphere.
WINGMAN represents the pinnacle of dive support, seamlessly blending functionality, safety, and elegant design for unforgettable underwater adventures.
FIVE OCEANS: Bold Exploration
FIVE OCEANS, the 2nd YS53 in the series represents the pinnacle of next-generation Yacht Support vessels. Meticulously designed and engineered, she boasts cutting-edge equipment and a robust platform for ambitious research, ocean conservation, exploration, and philanthropic initiatives.
AXIS: Ocean Discovery
As part of Allen Exploration, a private fleet which includes superyacht GIGI and open express sports fishing craft FRIGATE, YS5009 AXIS was established for ocean discovery and environmental projects in collaboration with education facilities and local communities.
She carries a Triton submersible and an Icon A5 aircraft and has gone above, below and beyond!
SHADOW: The 5th YS 5009
SHADOW, the fifth yacht built on Damen Yachting's popular YS 5009 platform, demonstrates the versatility and continuous evolution of this successful Yacht Support design. SHADOW is the first in the series to feature dedicated guest accommodation while retaining its core support yacht functionality. This innovative approach offers a unique blend of luxury and practicality.
POWER PLAY: A Floating Heliport
POWER PLAY, the sixth hull in Damen's popular YS 5009 series, showcases the adaptability and customisation options available within the Yacht Support range.
Originally built to Damen Yachting’s high standards including lower noise reduction, reduced vibrations and yacht quality HVAC, POWER PLAY underwent a significant transformation after her sale, returning to the Damen Yachting yard for owner-requested modifications to become a dedicated floating heliport.
This unique conversion highlights the vessel's versatility and its ability to meet specific client needs.
Sports Fishing and Ocean Life
Delivered originally as JOY RIDER, then subsequently as support vessel to SY PINK GIN, and known today as BAD COMPANY SUPPORT 151, this 46-metre Yacht Support has continued her trailblazing journey. She joins the impressive fleet of a highly experienced Owner and team with a passion for sports fishing and ocean life.
High-speed Cruising and Entertainment
This highly customised vessel is the first in a new breed of yachts with her ground breaking approach. Coupled with a huge tender and toys carrying capability, B3 makes the perfect yacht for high-speed cruising and entertainment. Both her exterior and interior design are a result of close collaboration between our in-house design department and the Owner’s team, creating a yacht that is both functional and luxurious.
GAME CHANGER Research, Conservation and Dive Expeditions.
One of the larger Yacht Supports in the fleet, 69.15-metre GAME CHANGER has taken capability and customised operations around the world for research, conservation projects and facilitating luxury dive expeditions. The vessel also received certification for operations in the Arctic and Antarctic regions (IMO Polar Code).
One of the noteworthy features of the boat is her certified helicopter hangar, capable of accommodating air tenders while offering protection from environmental factors.
Our Largest Yacht Support Vessel Built to Date
This 75-metre bespoke support yacht is our largest Yacht Support vessel built to date. The customised inhouse design is based on the YS 75 model. Finished and faired with top yacht quality paintwork and deck hardware, she will hangar a helicopter with a D14 value together with a wide range of specialised marine gear and tenders. The vessel will accommodate 45 people including crew, specialist staff and guests.
