Axis Yacht

AXIS Exploration

AXIS (YS5009), a purpose-built Yacht Support vessel, embodies the spirit of exploration and discovery. It has recently been sold (March 2025) to a new Owner.

Previously part of the Allen Exploration fleet, which also includes the superyacht GIGI and the sports fishing craft FRIGATE, AXIS was designed for oceanographic research and environmental projects. In collaboration with educational institutions and local communities, she served as a platform for groundbreaking scientific endeavours.

Equipped to carry a Triton submersible and an Icon A5 aircraft, AXIS has truly gone above and below, pushing the boundaries of oceanic exploration. As her previous Owner, Carl Allen describe her: "GIGI is our home and AXIS is our workhorse."

This robust vessel, with her steel hull and superstructure, draws three meters and holds an impressive 60,000 gallons of diesel, making her the perfect platform for extended expeditions.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated onboard, along with a crew of 11. AXIS features exterior design and naval architecture by Damen Yachting, with interior design by Patrick Dupuis. Powered by four Caterpillar engines, she achieves a top speed of 20 knots and has a fuel capacity of 196,000 litres.

We look forward to seeing what adventures she encounters with her new Owner.
