INTREPID (YS 6911), a 69.15-meter motor yacht, showcases the evolution and innovation of the shipyard's Yacht Support range. This vessel builds upon the success of Damen's 67-meter platform, including vessels like Garçon and 6711, while introducing significant advancements. A key feature is the innovative aft helideck, designed to accommodate helicopters. This platform cleverly opens to reveal a below-deck hangar, a unique solution for secure helicopter storage. The client's specific requirement for this feature led to a two-meter extension and evolution of the design.
INTREPID features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, a beam of 11.5 meters, a draught of 3.65 meters, and a substantial volume of 1,128 GT. Powered by four MTU engines, INTREPID achieves a top speed of 20 knots and has a fuel capacity of 350,000 liters. Both the exterior design and naval architecture were handled by Damen Yachting.
She can often be seen alongside her mothership INFINITY, which further underscores her role as a vital support vessel.
